Smith has been the assistant principal at Vandagriff Elementary since 2018. Prior to that, she was a social studies teacher at McAnally Intermediate from 2014 to 2018. Smith was an assistant principal in the Grand Prairie ISD at Lorenzo De Zavala Environmental Science Academy (2011-2014) and at Bush Elementary (2010-2011) and a fifth-grade English/language arts and social studies teacher at Rayburn Elementary (2009-2010). Smith also taught fifth grade at Tannahill Intermediate in the White Settlement ISD from 2001 to 2009. She has both a bachelor’s of science and a master’s in educational leadership from Tarleton State University.
